It all started in Hornberg, Germany, in 1817, when Georg Friedrich Horn had a factory built for the production of pottery ware, which was initially exclusively focused on the production of stoneware. In 1956, the production expanded from stoneware to the production of ceramics, and at the same time the product portfolio was expanded to include sanitary ware. This was the cornerstone of future success, and a new name was also introduced to the world of sanitary ware: Duravit. Today, Duravit AG operates on an international level, comprising 10 production sites, with an employee count exceeding 5000 in number globally. One of the sources of the great strengths of the Duravit brand is its deep connection to the Black Forest region. That is why Duravit is also a partner and sponsor of the Black Forest National Park. Additionally, Duravit does what has to be done to maximally protect such natural elements as water, air and soil.

Although we live in an era of high-tech technology and automation, such quality of products, which makes heavy demands on design and functionality, is dependent on human craftsmanship.
